Welcome to the Question
Before the episodes, before the conversations, before all of it — there's this one.
In this intro episode, Ash gets honest about why Now What Are We Doing? exists. She's a 12-year marketing veteran, a newlywed, and someone who spent a long time being really good at building other people's dreams — until life handed her a plot twist she didn't see coming.
This episode isn't about having it figured out. It's about finally being brave enough to ask the question out loud. What's coming in Season 1, why Travis shows up in Season 2, and who exactly this podcast is for — which might just be you.
If you've ever looked around and thought okay, now what — you found your show. Welcome.

Can I ask you something? When is the last time you actually stopped and asked yourself if you were happy? Not fine, not managing, actually happy with where you are, with what you're building, and who you're becoming. If you had to pause before answering that, you're exactly who this podcast is for. Hey, I'm Ash, and welcome to Now, what are we doing? So let me tell you a little bit about me. And I mean a little because honestly, the best way to get to know me is just to keep listening, and that's kind of the whole point. I'm a marketer by trade, 12 years in the industry, paid search, paid social, leading teams, managing big accounts, the whole thing. On paper, it looked really good. And for a long time I told myself that meant everything else was really good. I'm also a wife. Travis and I got married, and that chapter has taught me more about myself than probably anything else. And you'll hear from him too, eventually, because marriage has a way of surfacing all the things you thought you had figured out. But here's the honest version of my story. I spent a long time being really good at building other people's dreams. And somewhere in the middle of all that, the promotions, which were really nice, the long hours, the high pressure rooms, I kind of forgot to tend to my own. And then life handed me a plot twist I did not see coming. And I had to sit with the one question I'd been avoiding for years. Now what are we doing? That question is the whole show. Not because I have all the answers. Trust me, I don't. But because I think there is something powerful that happens when we stop pretending that we do. When we get honest about the gap between where we are and where we feel like we're supposed to be. This podcast is for the woman who is succeeding by every external measure and still feels like something is a little off. It's for the one who just got the news she didn't expect. A layoff, a breakup, a season that ended before she was ready. It's for the one sitting on a dream in her notes app that she hasn't touched since 2020. It's for anyone who's looked around and thought, okay, now what? Here's what season one looks like. We're starting with the stuff I think about the most corporate burnout. What it feels like when the career you built stops feeling like yours. Learning to trust yourself when everything around you feels uncertain, and what it means to bet on yourself even when it's scary. In season two, we're getting into marriage. What changes? What surprises you, what nobody warned you about. Travis is gonna join me for some of those conversations, and I'm honestly a little nervous about that in the best way. I have a whole roadmap for where this show is going, and I'm so glad you're here at the beginning of it. So here's what I want you to do. If any part of what I just said resonated, if you feel seen even by one sentence, share this episode with somebody because I promise you she needs it too. Follow the show wherever you listen to podcasts, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and leave a review if you're feeling generous. And come find me on Instagram at Ash Jolene underscore. Let me know you're here. I'll see you in episode one. And until then, let that question sit with you. Now, what are we doing?
